Gaza death toll rises to 10,569 — media

There were 4,324 children and 2,823 women among those killed

DUBAI, November 8. /TASS/. The number of people killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to 10,569, Al Jazeera reports, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.

"The number of people killed since Israel unleashed a war in Gaza has risen to 10,569," the ministry said in a statement, adding that there were 4,324 children and 2,823 women among those killed.

The Gaza Health Ministry said on Tuesday that Israeli strikes had killed 10,468 people in the enclave since October 7, and left over 27,000 wounded.

Earlier on Wednesday, Al Jazeera reported, citing a Gaza source, that 18 hospitals in the Strip were no longer operational and the situation was devastating at Gaza’s medical facilities, especially in the north.

Tensions in the Middle East flared up again after Hamas militants infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7. The Palestinian movement described its attack as a response to the actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Israel announced a total blockade of Gaza and started carrying out strikes on the Palestinian enclave, as well as on certain areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank. On October 27, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari announced the expansion of ground operations in Gaza.
