20 trucks with humanitarian aid enter Gaza Strip on Monday — OCHA

According to the OCHA, aid to Gaza doesn’t include fuels

GENEVA, October 24. /TASS/. Twenty trucks with humanitarian cargoes on October 23 crossed into the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing point, with half of them carrying UN supplies, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), said on Monday.

"Twenty trucks crossed Rafah today. Half of the trucks were carrying UN supplies - water, food and medicine," it said in a daily bulletin. "On Saturday and Sunday, a total of 34 trucks were able to enter Gaza with life-saving supplies."

According to the OCHA, aid to Gaza doesn’t include fuels. "The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), by far the largest humanitarian provider in Gaza, will exhaust its fuel reserves within the next two days," it said, adding that amid the lack of fuel humanitarian organizations will have to focus entirely on water transportation.

"The number of people internally displaced in Gaza is estimated at about 1.4 million with nearly 580,000 sheltering 150 UNRWA designated emergency shelters. Humanitarian colleagues warn about overcrowding as the average number of people per shelter has reached more than 2.5 times their capacity," it said. "The Shifa hospital in Gaza city, the largest in the Strip, is currently treating some 5,000 patients, significantly over its capacity of 700 patients. This is in addition to approximately 45,000 internally displaced people seeking refuge within and around the hospital.".
