Officials in breakaway Kosovo say police find body of fourth Serb

It is noted that the body of one of the "attackers" was found by the region’s law enforcement agents as they searched the area where the shooting took place

BELGRADE, September 25. /TASS/. The number of Serbs that were killed in the course of the September 24 events in Kosovo and Metohija has increased to four, said Naim Abazi, the special prosecutor of unrecognized Kosovo.

The body of one of the "attackers" was found by the region’s law enforcement agents as they searched the area where the shooting took place, the prosecutor said, according to the Tanjug news agency. He also said a car had been found, and it was being inspected by specialists.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said earlier that members of the Kosovo Force, also known as KFOR, not only failed to comply with its mission in the events that took place in Kosovo and Metohija on Sunday, but also helped the police of unrecognized Kosovo in using violence against civilians. He stated in an address to the nation that the KFOR assisted the police of self-proclaimed Kosovo in an operation against local Serbs, saying they essentially offered Albin Kurti, the prime minister of the breakaway region, carte blanche to kill them. Vucic said Kurti, who is backed by the international community, is the only person responsible for what had happened.

Kurti earlier published photos of masked gunmen and said they had attacked police officers with support from Serbian authorities. He said Kosovo law enforcement agencies were conducting an operation to apprehend the suspects. According to Kurti, one policeman was killed and another was wounded the night into Sunday. Vucic later said police in Kosovo killed three Serbs and seriously wounded two others. According to the Serbian president, after what happened, Belgrade will never recognize Kosovo’s independence.
