MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. The US embassy in Kiev has actually started to work as a field office of the Pentagon, the deputy speaker of Russia’s State Duma, Irina Yarovaya, said at a plenary session of the lower house, where the final report of the commission for the parliamentary investigation into the activities of US biolaboratories in Ukraine was presented.
"In fact, the US embassy in Ukraine has begun to work as a field office of the Pentagon. This is probably a monstrous precedent of how diplomatic channels of communication should not be used at all," she said.
Yarovaya recalled that Ukraine had liquidated its sanitary and epidemiological service and cancelled the system of clinical examination and compulsory vaccination of the population.
"In fact, Ukraine has turned into a hotbed of epidemics of measles, tuberculosis and other diseases. Moreover, this served as a loophole for committing other criminal actions: for importing unregistered medicines and testing them on Ukrainians," she added.
Yarovaya pointed out that all of the disease outbreaks in Ukraine completely refuted US officials’ allegations about some humanitarian benefits from US projects to Ukraine.
"The worst thing is that they were free to collect in Ukraine everything that they were interested in: biological and genetic materials and pathogens. They disguise this stuff they send to the US as diplomatic pouches in order to hide it from the public in Ukraine and in the United States itself and also from the whole world. What is it they send to the Pentagon’s high-tech bio-laboratories and receive back?" she said.
Last March, Russia’s State Duma and Federation Council adopted a resolution to conduct a parliamentary investigation of the US biolaboratories in Ukraine and to create a joint commission for such an investigation. The preparation procedures for the parliamentary probe began on the basis of an instruction from Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. The commission was composed of 14 lower house members and as many upper house members. State Duma Deputy Speaker Irina Yarovaya and Federation Council Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev are the commission’s co-chairs.
