MINSK, April 10. /TASS/. Belarus’ updated national security concept provides the tools and mechanisms to respond to any new risks and challenges, Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich said on Monday.
"Today, there are a great many risks to national security, which border on threats. First of all, we don’t want to hear cannons on Belarus’ territory. This is why we need the timely use of tools and mechanisms to respond to risks and challenges in order to avert disaster," the BelTA news agency quoted him as saying.
According to the Belarusian security chief, the nation’s updated security concept is "a guide for the work of government bodies in all spheres to ensure the country’s security, to protect the population and defend national interests."
Earlier it was reported that the draft of Belarus’ updated national security concept will be submitted for approval to the All-Belarus Popular Assembly due to be held in late April 2024.
