Ukraine does not expect fighter jet deliveries in the near future, says top diplomat

BERLIN, March 12. /TASS/. Kiev is unlikely to receive Western fighter jets in the near future, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper on Sunday.

"I do not expect the fighters to be delivered in the near future, as it is a very difficult task from a logistical and technical point of view. That is why we point out that the training of Ukrainian pilots should begin now. When the decision to provide the planes is made, we will not have to spend many months on this," he said.

In the second half of February, Kuleba said that Kiev had not yet had any promises from any country on fighter jets supply.

The German government earlier said that it was not considering supplying fighter jets to Ukraine.
