US Congresswoman says Ukraine needs peace, not money for weapons

Taylor Greene accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of trying to draw the Americans into the hostilities against Russia

WASHINGTON, March 3. /TASS/. US needs to stop providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine and seek peace for the country, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican member of the US House of Representatives, said on Friday.

"No money to Ukraine, and that country needs to find peace not war," the Republican representing Georgia said at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

Greene accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of trying to draw the Americans into the hostilities against Russia.

"Zelensky wants our sons and daughters to go die in Ukraine. And while I will look at a camera and directly tell Zelensky you better leave your hands off our sons and daughters, because they're not dying over there," she said.

Greene is a member of the Republican Party’s right flank and a supporter of former US President Donald Trump. She backed the proposed resolution to cease assistance to Kiev, which had been submitted to the House by Republican Representative Matt Gaetz.
