Missile fragments found in Moldova near border with Ukraine pose no danger — authorities

This is the fourth case of a missile or its fragments falling on the territory of Moldova during the course of the special military operation

CHISINAU, February 17. /TASS/. Fragments of a missile, which fell down near Moldova’s border with Ukraine on Thursday, do not pose any threat, Moldova’s Interior Ministry said on Friday.

"After a check, specialists came to the conclusion that the missile fragments pose no threats," it wrote on its Telegram channel, adding that a criminal case has been opened.

Moldovan border guards spotted missile fragments near the village of Larga on the border with Ukraine. This is the fourth case of a missile or its fragments falling on the territory of Moldova during the course of the special military operation. According to the Moldovan interior ministry, the missile fragments found near the Moldovan villages of Neslavcea and Larga and the city of Briceni were pieces of S-300 air defense rockets fired by the Ukrainian side. Despite this fact, the Moldovan side lodged a protest with the Russian Ambassador to Chisinau Oleg Vasnetsov.
