US allocates new military aid package for Kiev worth $2.5 billion — Pentagon

The package will include 59 Bradley armored personnel carriers and 90 Stryker armored vehicles

WASHINGTON, January 20. /TASS/. The United States has allocated another military aid package for the Kiev government, according to a memorandum signed by US President Joe Biden published by the White House on Wednesday.

In turn, the Pentagon reported that the aid package will include 59 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) with 590 TOW anti-tank missiles and 295,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition.

Moreover, the United States will provide the Kiev government with 90 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) with 20 mine rollers, eight Avenger air defense systems, additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), as well as high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARMs).

Besides, Kiev troops are to receive 53 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs), 350 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), 20,000 155mm artillery rounds and 95,000 105mm artillery rounds, approximately 600 precision-guided 155mm artillery rounds, and about 11,800 120mm mortar rounds.

The US aid will also include Claymore anti-personnel munitions, over 3,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition, approximately 2,000 anti-armor rockets and other types of military equipement and ammunition.

In total, the United States has committed more than $26.7 billion in military assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in the country.
