MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Sunni extremists attacked the Shah Cheragh mausoleum in the south of Iran, Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported on Wednesday citing sources from local security services.
"The terrorist attack was carried out by radical Wahhabis (religious and political movement, which seeks a return to the original Islam - TASS), who took advantage of the recent unrest in the country," the news agency’s source said.
On Wednesday evening, three unidentified armed gunmen opened fire in the Shah Cheragh mausoleum in Chiraz, the Fars Province. At least 13 people were killed in the terrorist attack and dozens were wounded, Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said. Iranian media also reported that among the victims of the attack were two children.
