Police start to disperse rally in central street of Moldovan capital, take down tent camp

Police then removed the tents from the motorway

CHISINAU, October 16. /TASS/. Moldovan police on Sunday started to disperse protesters that blocked traffic in a central street of the country’s capital as they rallied against the government, according to a TASS reporter at the scene.

Police surrounded a tent encampment erected by the protesters and demanded that people leave. The protesters left, chanting, "Shame!" and "We are the people".

Police then removed the tents from the motorway.

Police also took down the 350 tents that were placed before the parliament and presidential administration buildings in central Chisinau. Protesters, who didn’t put up any resistance, were dragged out of the tents. The tents were then loaded on trucks and taken away.
