DONETSK, June 21. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops fired 42 NATO-standard 155 mm shells at the Kievsky district of Donetsk in just one hour on Tuesday, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination said.
According to the report, the projectiles were fired from Avdeyevka and Krasnogorovka. Overall, 42 artillery rounds were fired during three shelling attacks - at 17:40, 18:06 and 18:34 local time (coincides with Moscow time).
According to the mission, at least nine shelling attacks were registered in the district since morning.
The Kievsky district of Donetsk lies between the city center and northern outskirts. Since the very outset of the conflict, this area was among the hardest-hit in the city, as it houses vital infrastructure: the central rail station, the city airport and numerous motorways. As Kiev’s aggression against the republic escalated in February 2022, the situation in the district deteriorated drastically, with numerous civilian casualties reported as a result of intense shelling by Ukrainian troops.
