Lukashenko says Belarus remains committed to allied relations with Russia

Belarusians have no right not to support Russia, President said

MINSK, May 9. /TASS/. Belarus will continue to support Russia in every possible way, no one will be allowed to break Belarusian-Russian relations, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Monday on the occasion of Victory Day.

"Belarusians have no right not to support Russia. We have always been together, we have always been united," Lukashenko said, adding "Remaining an ally and strategic partner of our fraternal Russia, we will support it in every possible way".

May 9 marks 77 years since the Soviet Union’s victory in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War. Traditionally, military parades are held across Russia and festive fireworks light up skies over Russian cities and towns on this day. For the first time over two years since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the Immortal Regiment marches were held throughout Russia to commemorate those who fought and died during WWII.
