KIEV, April 8. /TASS/. Ukraine has begun a third wave of mobilization, as follows from a report by the Ukrainian online resource Apostrophe. University graduates who have undergone military training under an officers reserve training program at their institutions of higher learning will be drafted into the armed forces.
"Ukraine has begun a third wave of the mobilization. General mobilization may end on May 24, but may be prolonged, if the situation requires. Reserve officers who had undergone military training at their universities will be drafted into the army," the report says.
According to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s decree dated February 24, mobilization should be carried out in the regions of Vinnitsa, Volyn, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Trans-Carpathia, Zaporozhye, Ivano-Frankovsk, Kiev, Kirovograd, Lugansk, Lvov, Nikolaev, Odessa, Poltava, Rovno, Sumy, Ternopol, Kharkov, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Cherkassy, Chernovtsy and Chernigov and the city of Kiev.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24 launched a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the leaders of the Donbass republics with the aim of the country’s demilitarization and denazification. The DPR and LPR began their own operation to regain territories remaining under Kiev’s control.
