MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The international community needs to develop standards of conduct in cyberspace in order to prevent another global crisis, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for International Cyber Security Cooperation Andrei Krutskikh said during an online discussion dubbed ‘Information Security and the Digitalization Process: Between Development and Fears,’ hosted by the Valdai International Discussion Club on Tuesday.
According to him, the coronavirus pandemic highlights for the world the need to prepare for global issues in advance. "It makes it clear that we need… to find solutions before another crisis strikes, and it will be a cyber crisis next time," the senior Russian diplomat pointed out.
Krutskikh emphasized the need to create international standards of conduct in cyberspace. "Apart from a common terminology and a common understanding, we also need to agree on certain security standards," he noted. "I hope that mankind will be wise enough to make joint efforts to draw up at least basic solutions for this field," Krutskikh said.
