Russia sends 82nd convoy with humanitarian aid to Donbass

The trucks are carrying around 700 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including food packages for children, medical supplies and necessities

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry's convoy with humanitarian aid has been sent to Donbass, the ministry's press service told TASS on Thursday.

"The 82nd convoy with humanitarian aid for residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions has left the Russian Emergency Ministry's Donskoy Rescue Center in the Rostov Region and is heading toward the Russian-Ukrainian border," the press service said.

The trucks are carrying around 700 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including food packages for children, medical supplies and necessities.

The convoy will separate into two parts before passing through checkpoints. The two convoys will then head for Donetsk and Lugansk respectively.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry has been providing humanitarian aid to Donbass since August 2014. Convoys with vital humanitarian cargoes are sent to Ukraine's eastern regions every month. Over the last four years, over 77,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid has been delivered to Donbass.
