Moldovan president plans to meet with Putin in Moscow in mid-July

According to the Moldovan leader, he wants to reach "balance in Moldova’s relations with both the East and the West"

CHISINAU, July 3. /TASS/. Moldovan President Igor Dodon said on Tuesday he plans to meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, when he is in Moscow to attend the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup.

"My foreign policy course is to completely restore relations with Russia. I was invited to attend the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony. I hope to meet with President Vladimir Putin. Such a meeting is being prepared now," he told a news conference.

According to the Moldovan president, he wants to reach "balance in Moldova’s relations with both the East and the West."

No announcement of such a meeting has come from the Kremlin press service as of yet. However Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said earlier Moscow would be glad to see all leaders who wished to attend the football tournament.
