Forward Pablo Solari signs with Russia’s Spartak Moscow FC

Pablo Solari previously played for Chilean football club Colo Colo, which earlier won the National Cup and the Super Cup as well as the national championship

MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Pablo Solari has parted ways with Argentinian club River Plate and signed a contract with Russia’s Spartak Moscow football club, Spartak FC’s press office announced in a statement on Tuesday.

The contract is for four and a half years. ESPN journalist Javier Gil Navarro announced earlier that Spartak Moscow FC would pay 12 million euros (some $12.4 million) for the transfer of the Argentinian footballer.

The Soy del Millo sports website reported earlier that fellow Argentinian and current midfielder for Spartak Moscow FC Esequiel Barco had been actively trying to recruit his countryman to play for the Russian club as well. Barco previously played with Solari on River Plate FC.

Solari, 23, joined River Plate in July 2022. He scored 30 goals for the club, while assisting on another 17 in his 110 match appearances. In the 2022/2023 season he won the Argentinian football championship with the club as well as the National Cup and the Super Cup.

He previously played for Chilean football club Colo Colo, which won the National Cup and the Super Cup (in the 2020/2021 season) as well as the national championship (in 2022).

Spartak Moscow FC was founded 101 years ago. It has won 12 USSR championships and ten Russian championships. The team and its players have been decorated with copious awards.

Following 18 rounds of the 2024/2025 Russian Premier League’s Championship, Spartak Moscow FC is currently in 3rd place with 37 points.
