Russian couple that climbed Empire State Building urges others not to repeat their ascent

NEW YORK, September 29. /TASS/. Russian urban climbers Ivan Kuznetsov and Angelina Nikolau urged others not to try to climb the Empire State Building like they did.

"We want to thank everyone who supported us at that moment. We also want to say: Please don’t try to repeat what we did, because we are professionals, trained professionals with 15 years of experience," Kuznetsov said as he left the courthouse after another hearing in their case.

Nikolau added that they climbed the skyscraper’s spire in the name of "the power of love and peace."

On July 1, Kuznetsov and Nikolau climbed the spire of the Empire State Building in Manhattan. The New York Police Department told TASS that they had been charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, violating local law, possessing burglar’s tools, criminal trespass, criminal tampering and disorderly conduct.

A New York court scheduled the next hearing in the rooftop climbers’ case for October 27, a TASS correspondent reported from the courtroom.
