KRASNODAR, April 4. /TASS/. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) detained a former member of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Krasnodar Region who had been seeking to enlist in the Ukrainian armed forces, and who has left Russia under the escort and control of law enforcement officers and has been barred from re-entering Russia, the FSB press office told reporters.
"The FSB’s Krasnodar Region branch has detained Israeli national Yuval Lanzman, born in 1960, a former serviceman of the Israel Defense Forces, who intended to join Ukrainian armed formations to participate in hostilities against Russia. It was established that the foreigner had a negative attitude toward the special military operation and the policies of the Russian leadership, and therefore sent his resume and autobiographical data to various terrorist organizations banned in Russia in an effort to join such organizations and perform combat missions against Russia. He was escorted out of the country for further departure to Israel, and his [re-]entry into Russia has been prohibited," the press office said.
It added that the Israeli citizen did not manage to realize his plans, as he was identified and detained in a timely manner. Also, the FSB issued him an official warning about the inadmissibility of actions that create conditions for the commission of a crime under Part 2, Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Participation in the Activities of a Terrorist Organization").
