Overall mortality rate in Russia falls by 7% in 2023 — Health Ministry

Deputy Minister of Health Evgeny Kamkin recalled that life expectancy at the end of 2023 was 73.4 years

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. The overall mortality rate of the Russian population in 2023 fell by 7%, which is the best figure since the coronavirus pandemic, Deputy Minister of Health Evgeny Kamkin said on Wednesday.

"Over the 12 months of 2023, the overall mortality rate of the population also decreased by 7%. This is the best figure since the coronavirus pandemic," he said.

Kamkin also recalled that life expectancy at the end of 2023 was 73.4 years, which is 0.8% higher than at the end of 2022.
