MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Someone has hacked the website of the Russian Red Cross, the organization does not conduct paid evacuation from Russia’s Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine, the agency’s chairman Pavel Savchuk told TASS.

Earlier, a message appeared on the organization’s website, saying that it allegedly conducts paid evacuation from the territory of Belgorod and Belgorod Region. The evacuation was said to be organized in response to the appeal of the Russian Volunteer Corps (designated as a terrorist group in Russia).

"The website of the Russian Red Cross was attacked by hackers. Now our specialists are eliminating the problems that arose, access to the site may be temporarily limited," the chairman said, commenting on the message.

According to him, the organization does not organize paid evacuations and does not support the initiatives of armed groups. "Our Belgorod branch provides assistance to anyone who needs it in a normal mode," Savchuk added.

"Whoever did this has no shame in attacking the information resources of humanitarian organizations and does not understand the consequences of his or her actions. Such actions are unacceptable at any time. We appeal to IT companies with a request to help ensure the information security of our resources for uninterrupted humanitarian work and assistance to people," the Russian Red Cross chairman concluded.
