MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. Russia’s Interior Ministry has again declared Mikhail Khodorkovsky (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia) as wanted after he was charged with disseminating fake news about the Russian army, according to the agency’s database.

"Mikhail Borisovich Khodorkovsky, wanted under a Criminal Code article. Re-declared [as wanted]," the listing in the database said.

Law enforcement told TASS that criminal charges were brought against Khodorkovsky in September 2023 under Russian Criminal Code Article 207.3 (Part 1) ("Publicly Spreading Patently False Information about the Use of Russia’s Armed Forces"). The charges are related to comments he made on the Internet about payments to soldiers who died during the special military operation. The article stipulates a penalty of up to five years in prison.
