Ukraine dismantles 28 monuments to Pushkin in one year — Culture Ministry

Furthermore, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture announced that 9,859 geographical names related with Russia will be renamed in 2022

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities in 2022 demolished 28 monuments to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. In total, 145 monuments associated with Russia were dismantled over the year, according to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

In addition, nine monuments to writer Maxim Gorky, four to commander Alexander Suvorov, and four more to writer Nikolay Ostrovsky were demolished in Ukraine in 2022. More than 20 monuments to Soviet soldiers, as well as one to Empress Catherine II, were also destroyed.

Furthermore, Ukraine's Ministry of Culture announced that 9,859 geographical names related with Russia will be renamed in 2022.
