MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Ben Ferencz, who was the last living prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials, died at 103, his son confirmed to NBC on Saturday.

The causes of his death were not disclosed.

According to the TV channel, Ferencz was 27 when he started his job at the murder trial. Ferencz and his team collected thousands of documents at the camps and facilities in Berlin, including detailed reports on special SS units that killed more than 1 million people in Nazi-occupied Europe, the TV channel said. He secured the convictions of 22 Nazi death squad leaders, of whom 14 were sentenced to death and only four were executed.

After the trial, Ferencz was tasked with returning property seized by the Nazis to its owners or their heirs, NBC reported. He also helped negotiate a reparations agreement with the government of West Germany.
