RABAT, April 8. /TASS/. Director General of the Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) news agency Khalil El Hachemi El Idrissi passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness at the age of 66.
He was born on August 14, 1956 in Casablanca. For many years, he was developing media outlets and communications serving as the general editor of well-known newspapers. In 2011, King Mohammed VI appointed him as the director general of the MAP.
Idrissi visited Russia and participated in the Russia-Africa Summit in Sochi in October 2019.
The Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) news agency was founded in November 1959 and is currently considered to be among the largest and the most influential ones in the region being a reliable and respected source of information.
