The investigators also said that they have sent this information to the Russian Justice Ministry for adding the organization to the list of foreign and international NGOs whose activities were undesirable on the Russian territory

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has declared the activities of Transparеncy International undesirable in Russia, the office’s press service told reporters on Monday.

"After examination of incoming materials, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has made a decision to recognize the activities of Transparеncy International with its headquarters in Berlin (Germany) as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation as it is managed by citizens of foreign countries," the statement said.

According to investigators, the activities of the organization clearly went beyond the declared goals and objectives. "Formally, acting as an organization fighting corruption around the world, it interfered in the domestic affairs of the Russian Federation. It also threatened the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation," the General Prosecutor's Office pointed out.

The investigators also said that they have sent this information to the Russian Justice Ministry for adding the organization to the list of foreign and international NGOs whose activities were undesirable on the Russian territory.
