St. Petersburg launches direct air service to Beijing on February 19

As of February 1, 2023, in order to travel to Beijing, passengers need a PCR test for the presence of COVID-19 made no more than 48 hours prior to boarding

ST. PETERSBURG, February 1. /TASS/. Direct flights between St. Petersburg and Beijing will begin on February 19 for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, the press service of Northern Capital Gateway, Pulkovo airport’s managing company, told reporters on Wednesday.

"Beginning on February 19, Hainan Airlines will begin flights from Pulkovo airport to China’s capital. The air route will connect St. Petersburg and Beijing for the first time since early 2020," the press service said.

The flights will be performed weekly on Sundays using an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The departure from Beijing airport is scheduled for 16:25, the arrival in St. Petersburg is at 20:15. The departure from Pulkovo is set for 22:05 with the arrival in the Chinese capital at 10:55. All times are local for each airport.

As of February 1, 2023, in order to travel to Beijing, passengers need a PCR test for the presence of COVID-19 made no more than 48 hours prior to boarding. It is recommended to learn the epidemiologic rules of crossing the state borders of departure and arrival countries before traveling.

Beijing is the second destination in China accessible by a direct flight from St. Petersburg. Once a week, it is also possible to travel from Pulkovo to Chengdu on Sichuan Airlines.
