Kherson regional governor asks Russia for help in getting residents out of danger zone

It was added that the Kherson Region residents made their choice at the referendum on joining Russia in September

KHERSON, October 13. /TASS/. The Kherson Region's acting governor, Vladimir Saldo, asked the Russian authorities to organize the residents’ departure to safer regions because of daily Ukrainian missile attacks.

"The Kherson Region cities: Kherson and Novaya Kakhovka, Golaya Prystan and Chernobayevka are subjected to missile strikes on a daily basis. These missile strikes cause serious damage first of all to the residents. <...> We suggested that all residents of the Kherson Region, if they wish to protect themselves from the consequences of missile attacks, also leave for other regions. First of all Crimea, the Rostov Region, the Krasnodar Region, the Stavropol Region, that is our neighbors. [People must have the opportunity] to take their children away and leave the region themselves. I am appealing to the leadership of the country: I would like to ask for your help in organizing such work," he said in his appeal posted on his Telegram channel.

Saldo added that the Kherson Region residents made their choice at the referendum on joining Russia in September. "We knew that such a decision would not be recognized by the Ukrainian authorities, and we expected that they would start to avenge us. And so they do," he said, stressing that the targets are residential buildings, hotels, markets, in other words, places where there are many peaceful people.

"In this regard, the leadership of the Kherson administration decided to organize for the Kherson families the possibility of leaving for other regions of the Russian Federation to rest and study," he pointed out. First of all, Saldo specified, it concerned residents of the region on the Dnieper’s right bank, but all residents of the region could take advantage of the offer.
