MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday four members of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist organization have been detained in the Kaluga region, one of them was plotting a terror attack.
"The Federal Security Service stopped the activities of four members of a clandestine cell of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham international terrorist organization, which is outlawed in Russia. One of them was hatching a terror attack at the local military facilities at the direction of foreign envoys of the international terrorist organization," it said, adding that the suspects have been detained.
According to the FSB, the search of the suspects’ place of residence yielded a cache holding components and parts of an improvised explosive device. Clandestine communications tools held a manual to make an explosive devise and correspondence with the organization’s members in the Middle East.
A criminal case was opened on charges of plotting a terror attack (part 1, article 30 and part 1, article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code).
