ST. PETERSBURG, June 6. /TASS/. None of the coronavirus vaccines provides full protection against the disease but the risk of contracting the virus stands at less than one percent, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"None of the vaccines provides full protection, the risk of contracting the virus is still there. We can see today that less than 0.8% of those vaccinated fall ill. It is a very low rate compared to that among unvaccinated people," he pointed out.
"We always assess risks. Those vaccinated face minimal risks. If more people get vaccinated, the overall risk of contracting the virus will be minimal," Murashko emphasized.
The 2021 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation took place on June 2-5. TASS was the forum’s information partner and the official photo hosting agency.
