Russia records 21,734 daily coronavirus cases, the lowest number since November 18

The overall case tally hit 3,612,800

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Russia recorded 21,734 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the lowest number since November 18, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Tuesday.

Russia's case tally has hit 3,612,800.

According to data from the crisis center, the coronavirus growth rate is 0.6%.

The rate is the lowest in the Kostroma Region (0.1%), the Tuva and Altai regions (0.2%), the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region, the Magadan Region and the Jewish Autonomous Region (0.3%).

In particular, 3,281 coronavirus cases were confirmed in St. Petersburg in the past day, 1,072 in the Moscow Region, 471 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 392 in the Rostov Region and 391 in the Voronezh Region.

There are currently 544,151 active coronavirus cases in Russia.

Fatalities

Russia has documented 586 deaths from COVID-19, a disease caused by the novel coronavirus, in the past 24 hours, compared to 471 the day before. The overall death toll has reached 66,623, the anti-coronavirus crisis center informed reporters on Tuesday.
 
The preliminary lethality rate reaches 1.84%.
 
In the past 24 hours, 84 deaths from COVID-19 have been documented in Moscow, 69 in St. Petersburg, 36 in the Moscow Region, 25 in the Krasnoyarsk Region, 22 in the Rostov Region, 20 in the Krasnodar Region, 18 in the Sverdlovsk Region.
