Moscow reports fifth coronavirus death

The 69-year-old was diagnosed with double pneumonia when she was admitted to hospital

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The fifth coronavirus patient has died in Moscow, the city’s healthcare department said on Saturday.

"A woman, who tested positive for coronavirus, has passed away in Moscow. The 69-year-old was diagnosed with double pneumonia when she was admitted to hospital," the statement said. "The patient also suffered from cardiosclerosis, second degree atherosclerosis and chronic pyelonephritis.".

The doctors had done their best to diagnose and treat the woman, including in the intensive care unit, but it was impossible to save her, the department said.

"In the wake of media reports, we draw your attention to the fact that the late woman, who was an epidemiologist, worked as a lecturer and had no contacts with the people infected with coronavirus," it said.
