MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Yury Slyusar will head Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), and Mikhail Pogosyan will for the time being retain the post of the corporation’s general designer, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov told journalists Tuesday.
“The UAC is overburdened by new issues related with developing combat, transport, military transport and long-haul aircraft, as well as civilian liners. A decision has been made to reinforce its leadership and split the positions of chief executive officer and general designer,” Manturov said.
“As far as the CEO is concerned, it has been decided to appoint Yury Slyusar to the post. All technical issues are to be settled shortly,” he added.
Pogosian remains the corporation’s general designer.
