MOSCOW, November 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Problems related to handing over the Gabala station to Azerbaijan have been solved practically, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov said in a meeting with Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu on Thursday.

The Azerbaijani minister said he is hopeful that problems of bilateral cooperation “will be also solved today”.

Shoigu congratulated the Azerbaijani minister on his appointment. “This is a responsible position in any state, particularly in such state as Azerbaijan,” the Russian minister said.

He wished the Azerbaijani counterpart success and luckiness “in strengthening the armed forces and developing military cooperation between our states”.

Russian-Azerbaijani relations develop. “There are many issues due to be solved. I think that we’ll discuss current issues, including handing over the Gabala station and further cooperation,” Shoigu said.

On the sidelines of the 65th session of the Council of CIS Defense Ministers Shoigu has also met Armenian counterpart Seyran Ohanyan.

“Relations between the countries and the defence ministries develop broadly and actively. This is not the first meeting and I’m ready to discuss military and military-technical cooperation,” Shoigu told his Armenian counterpart.

Ohanyan expressed gratitude to the Russian minister “for a possibility to do everything possible to strengthen military-technical cooperation”.
