US ships and drones should not approach Russian borders — ambassador to US

Anatoly Antonov reiterated that MQ-9 is a "multi-purpose combat drone that can carry 1,700 kilograms of explosives"

WASHINGTON, March 15. /TASS/. US surface ships and drones "have no business" near Russian borders, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov has said.

The diplomat told reporters after consultations at the US Department of State, where the diplomat was invited over Tuesday's incident with the MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the United States above the Black Sea: "Most importantly, I think that US aircraft and vessels have no business near the borders of the Russian Federation."

"Can you imagine a plane or a drone of this type near New York or San Francisco? Can you imagine the reaction of the US media and the Pentagon to such a drone?" he added.

The diplomat reiterated that MQ-9 is a "multi-purpose combat drone that can carry 1,700 kilograms of explosives." Later, he added that MQ-9 "can carry a few bombs.".
