Battlegroup East fighters clear over 100 buildings liberating Novoye Pole in Zaporozhye

The Ukrainian armed forces suffered losses amounting to up to a company of personnel, seven armored fighting vehicles and 11 motor vehicles

MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. During the liberation of Novoye Pole in the Zaporozhye Region, fighters of Russia’s Battlegroup East took control of a fortified Ukrainian defense area and cleared over 100 buildings, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Assault units of the Battlegroup East’s 36th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade, the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army, broke through the Ukrainian armed forces’ defenses north of Kommunarovka and liberated the Novoye Pole settlement in the Zaporozhye Region, the ministry said in a statement.

"During the fighting, units of the Battlegroup East took control of the enemy’s fortified defensive area and cleared more than 100 buildings within the settlement’s boundaries. The Ukrainian armed forces suffered losses amounting to up to a company of personnel, seven armored fighting vehicles, 11 motor vehicles, four ground robotic systems, and over 20 heavy Baba-Yaga hexacopters," the ministry said.
