MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Kiev no longer has its own resources to continue the conflict, and it was the reason behind the recent management reshuffle, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS.
Russia’s high-ranking diplomat was asked to voice his opinion about the internal political crisis in Ukraine and recent management reshuffles, particularly the appointment of new Commander-In-Chief, Mikhail Drapaty, and also about how it all affects the course of the conflict.
"Changing the order of the addends does not change the sum in [Ukraine’s Vladimir] Zelensky’s pockets," Galuzin said in an interview with TASS.
"The recent management reshuffle was obviously dictated by the desire of the head of the Kiev regime to retain power and control over the Western financial ‘trough.’ Ukraine has not had its own resources to continue the conflict for a long time," he noted.
"The current shuffling of functionaries in Kiev will in no way affect either the internal situation in Ukraine or the course of the conflict. Russia will carry on with its special military operation until all of its goals and objectives are achieved," Galuzin emphasized.
On July 14, Mikhail Fyodorov was sacked from the post of the country’s defense minister. Zelensky explained this by the conflict between Fyodorov and Ukraine’s then Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky.
On July 16, mass rallies erupted across Ukraine demanding the return of Fyodorov and the dismissal of Syrsky. Zelensky agreed to the latter on the sixth day of protests, and on July 22, Mikhail Drapaty was appointed the new commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army. However, the protesters are still demanding that Fyodorov be reinstated in his post.
