Armenia receives numerous benefits from cooperation in EAEU — Kremlin aide

Yury Ushakov noted that the country’s GDP per capita had nearly doubled since 2014

MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. The Republic of Armenia receives colossal benefits from cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov told a briefing ahead of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s trip to Astana.

"Eurasian integration has brought Armenia numerous benefits. The country’s GDP per capita has nearly doubled since 2014, when Armenia was not a member of the EAEU, from $11.6 bln to $20.2 bln. Real wages increased by 50%. Armenia’s exports to EAEU countries soared tenfold. Imports from EAEU countries grew 4.5-fold. Last year the Union’s members, primarily Russia, accounted for 38.5% of Armenia’s total exports, or 37.5% of the republic’s total foreign trade," he said.

Moreover, Armenia has been showing impressive growth rates for five consecutive years thanks to Eurasian integration, Ushakov added. "GDP grew by 12.6% in 2022, by 8.7% in 2023, by 5.9% in 2024, and by 7.2% in 2025. These are real figures, which indicate that Armenia receives colossal benefits from cooperation within the EAEU. And the leaders will discuss the prospects for relations with Armenia in this context, of course, as I said, at a closed meeting," he noted.
