MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. The Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered humanitarian aid to Somalia via a special flight, the press service told TASS.
"A Russian Emergencies Ministry Il-76 aircraft delivered a humanitarian cargo weighing over 24 tons to Mogadishu. Russian rescuers delivered food, tents, and blankets," the statement said.
The humanitarian operation was carried out on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and at the behest of Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
