Russia pushes for ending aggression against Iran that affects Persian countries — MFA

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russia calls for putting an end to the US and Israeli aggression against Iran that has affected Persian Gulf countries, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

On April 1, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko held a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji. The two senior diplomats focused on the situation in the Persian Gulf. "The Russian side emphasized that to end the war ongoing there, which has affected uninvolved Arab Persian Gulf countries and threatens navigation, the unprovoked US and Israeli aggression against Iran should be immediately stopped," the ministry said in its account of the conversation.

According to Russia’s MFA, Borisenko and El-Khereiji agreed that Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would continue close cooperation toward resolving the situation.
