MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Russian forces struck a Ukrainian military airfield, an UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) assembly workshop and deployment sites of Ukraine’s armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 147 areas over the past day, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
"Operational/tactical aircraft, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces struck infrastructure facilities of a military airfield, a production workshop of unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition, materiel and fuel depots, and also temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 147 locations," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ukrainian military lost more than 1,290 troops in battles with Russian forces in all the frontline areas over the past 24 hours, according to the latest data on the special military operation in Ukraine released by Russia’s Defense Ministry.
The latest figures show that the Ukrainian army lost roughly 155 troops in the responsibility area of Russia’s Battlegroup North, over 240 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup West, more than 265 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup South, roughly 425 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup Center, over 155 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup East and about 50 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup Dnepr.

Russia’s Battlegroup North inflicted roughly 155 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed two enemy tanks in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup North units inflicted losses on massed manpower and equipment of a mechanized brigade, an air assault brigade, two assault regiments of the Ukrainian army and two territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Bunyakino, Ryzhevka, Atinskoye, Belopolye and Bessalovka in the Sumy Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost an estimated 155 personnel, two tanks, an armored combat vehicle, 10 motor vehicles and three field artillery guns in that frontline area over the past 24 hours, it specified.

Russia’s Battlegroup West inflicted more than 240 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed an enemy tank and a Western-made artillery system in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup West units improved their tactical position and inflicted losses on formations of two mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade of the Ukrainian army and a National Guard brigade in areas near the settlements of Kupyansk and Sobolevka in the Kharkov Region, Karpovka and Kirovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost more than 240 personnel, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, seven motor vehicles, a Western-made artillery weapon and a Kvertus electronic warfare station in that frontline area over the past 24 hours, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed two ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup South inflicted more than 265 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed seven enemy armored combat vehicles in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup South units gained better lines and positions and inflicted losses on manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade and an assault brigade of the Ukrainian army in areas near the settlements of Markovo, Predtechino, Minkovka and Grigorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost more than 265 personnel, seven armored combat vehicles, four pickup trucks and four artillery guns in that frontline area over the past 24 hours, it specified.
In addition, Russian forces destroyed five ammunition depots of the Ukrainian army, it said.

Russia’s Battlegroup Center inflicted roughly 425 casualties on Ukrainian troops and destroyed nine enemy armored combat vehicles in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup Center units inflicted losses on formations of three mechanized brigades, an assault brigade of the Ukrainian army and two National Guard brigades in areas near the settlements of Koptevo, Razino, Krasnoarmeysk, Grodovka, Petrovskogo and Novaya Poltavka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.

"Battlegroup East units kept advancing deep into the enemy’s defenses and inflicted losses on manpower and equipment of a mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army, a National Guard brigade and a territorial defense brigade in areas near the settlements of Novoukrainka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Gulyaipole and Chervonoye in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.

Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr destroys 50 Ukrainian troops in past day
Russia’s Battlegroup Dnepr destroyed roughly 50 Ukrainian troops and two enemy armored combat vehicles in its area of responsibility over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Battlegroup Dnepr units inflicted losses on formations of a mechanized brigade and a coastal defense brigade of the Ukrainian army in areas near the settlements of Novoandreyevka in the Zaporozhye Region and Otradokamenka in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.
"As many as 50 [Ukrainian] military personnel, two armored combat vehicles, five motor vehicles and an ammunition depot were destroyed," it said.
Russian air defenses down 4 JDAM smart bombs, 89 Ukrainian drones over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down four JDAM smart bombs and 89 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Air defense capabilities shot down four US-made JDAM guided aerial bombs and 89 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said.
Overall, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 662 Ukrainian warplanes, 283 helicopters, 57,807 unmanned aerial vehicles, 605 surface-to-air missile systems, 23,424 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,563 multiple rocket launchers, 25,085 field artillery guns and mortars and 35,704 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
