DONETSK, May 19. /TASS/. More than 240 Ukrainian air attacks have been thwarted over major cities in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) during the past week, the regional Federal Security Service (FSB) directorate reported.
"Over the past week, the ‘Dome of Donbass’ airspace protection and electronic warfare system detected and intercepted 241 attempts by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles to cross the guarded perimeter of Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka," the directorate said.
For instance, on May 15, an attack by 19 cutting-edge drones on Donetsk, Makeyevka, Yasinovataya and towns away from the frontline was repelled.
Ukrainian troops attempted to attack Gorlovka with two "flying wing" drones and two quadcopters armed with explosive payloads.
"Overall, during the week, the radio-electronic warfare system has intercepted 49 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles over Gorlovka," the FSB directorate added.
