MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Hanoi intends to increase the intensity of contacts with Moscow, especially at the highest level, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and top diplomat Bui Thanh Son said at a press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
"We will strengthen our political trust by stepping up the exchange of delegations and increasing contacts at various levels, especially at the highest level," the top diplomat said. "We will expand cooperation in all spheres, especially in the economy, trade, investment, energy, oil and gas, transport, science, technology, innovation, education, training, culture and art. We will also develop cooperation in security and defense," he promised.
According to the deputy prime minister, strengthening relations between the two countries not only meets bilateral interests, but also contributes to peace and stability in the region and the world.
During the talks, the foreign ministers discussed the upcoming visit ofVietnamese Communist Party General Secretary To Lam to Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The visit will take place at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Earlier, the two sides celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with major events in Hanoi.
