Russia categorically against deployment of foreign military in Ukraine — senator

Grigory Karasin noted that this would lead "to a prolongation of the conflict, to new skirmishes, to new information and military schemes"

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Russia strongly opposes the deployment of any foreign troops in Ukraine, as it understands that they will be NATO units with a great probability, said Chairman of the Federation Council’s Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin.

"We are categorically against the deployment of any military units from foreign states on Ukrainian soil. We are well aware that these are likely to be military units from NATO countries," Karasin said.

The senator noted that this would lead "to a prolongation of the conflict, to new skirmishes, to new information and military schemes."

"This will not solve anything, it will only deepen uncertainty and prolong unresolved issues. Their mere presence would bring even more suffering," he added.

The politician also called NATO’s decision to expand east very unwise.
