KURSK, February 27. /TASS/. Russian troops are approximately 7 km away from Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region, the head of the Kharkov regional military-civil administration (MCA), Vitaly Ganchev, has told the media.

"Currently, the expansion of the bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskol River is underway. Kupyansk is very near, about 7 km away," he said.

Ganchev noted that the front line in the Kupyansk area was gradually widening. "We are also making progress from Svatovo, from the LPR on the left bank of the Oskol River. On that side, the distance is also about 7 km. There is a slow but steady expansion of the frontline," he said.

Ganchev also added that in the Kharkov region, cleanup operations were underway not only in the Kupyansk area.
