MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The European Union’s planned ban on imports of primary aluminum from Russia will not have a big impact on the country’s economy, as supplies to EU nations have already been greatly reduced in recent years, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov told reporters on the sidelines of the Future Technologies Forum.
"I don’t think there will be a big impact, considering that we have been reducing deliveries to there in recent years. We will look for alternative markets," the minister said.
According to Reuters, the EU will ban imports of primary aluminum from Russia as part of its 16th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
