Over 42,000 munitions neutralized in Russian regions near Ukraine over year

The Emergency Ministry’s employees help rebuild infrastructure after Ukrainian artillery strikes, including the ministry’s own facilities

MOSCOW, February 12. /TASS/. The Emergency Ministry sappers have disarmed over 42,000 rounds of ammunition in the regions bordering Ukraine, Minister Alexander Kurenkov told an expanded board of the ministry.

"While clearing the territories of the border regions of mines, the pyrotechnic squads of the Russian Emergency Ministry found and neutralized over 42,000 explosive objects," he said.

The Emergency Ministry’s employees help rebuild infrastructure after Ukrainian artillery strikes, including the ministry’s own facilities. There are plans to reconstruct 54 ministry buildings in the border regions, with 11 already restored and put into operation in 2024, the minister said.

"Last October, the Zaporizhia Rescue Center was founded. It is currently being finalized and equipped," he added.
