MOSCOW, February 4. /TASS/. World hunger impedes humanity's sustainable development and its attempts to ensure the planet's future, Oleg Kobyakov, the director of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) liaison office in Russia, stated.
World hunger is one of the most critical issues for today's international community, Kobyakov emphasized.
"In general, we regard all the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as equal. However, without solving the problem of hunger, we will be unable to combat extreme poverty, ensure the health of the world's population and its access to quality education, gender equality and, finally, decent work, which can promote sustainable development and give every person a full life," he said at a roundtable discussion on the history of the fight against world hunger and poverty.
