Ukrainian forces attack market in Gorlovka to injure civilians — Russian diplomat

"Cluster munitions not only caused injuries to the people who were at the market at the time but also left the area littered with unexploded muntions," Rodion Miroshnik said

DONETSK, February 4. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces deliberately targeted a market in Gorlovka, Donetsk People’s Republic, seeking to kill civilians, said Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large in charge of overseeing the Kiev regime’s crimes.

"The Ukrainian armed forces carried out a strike on the Komsomolets civilian market in Gorlovka at 7:40 a.m. Moscow time (4:40 a.m. GMT)," he noted. "The attack came at a time when many people come to the market to do shopping so that they don’t have to go out later in the day and risk coming under fire. Cluster munitions not only caused injuries to the people who were at the market at the time but also left the area littered with unexploded muntions. As you understand, there are no military facilities at the market nor anywhere near it. It was a deliberate strike on civilians in a crowded area, with the goal being to cause multiple casualties," Miroshnik wrote on Telegram.

Earlier, Gorlovka Urban District Head Ivan Prikhodko said that the number of people injured in the shelling attack on the market, located in a residential compound, had risen to eight.
